MCRP Float in 4th of July Parade @ The Woodlands Town Center Area
The Community Engagement Committee of the Montgomery County Republican Party (MCRP) is entering a float in the Fourth of July parade being held in the  the Town Center area of The Woodlands on the morning of July 4th.   This year’s parade theme is
“UNITED WE STAND”
THURSDAY JULY 4, 2019
9:00 AM
THE WOODLANDS FOURTH OF JULY PARADE
The Woodlands Town Center Area
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We need you, our faithful MCRP members to “unite and stand” together by volunteering to help make this a successful event!
The parade begins a 9:00 AM at the Woodlands United Methodist Church and traverses a 1.3 mile route throughout the Woodlands Town Center area.  More than 20,000 spectators line the Town Center streets to watch the marching bands, fire engines, clowns, horses and floats that are in the parade.  The parade will is quite an event and will take place rain or shine.
The staging area for floats and participants is in the parking lot of the Woodlands Methodist Church located at Grogan’s Mill Road and Lake Woodlands Drive.   All entries (floats and participants) in the parade must be in place in the staging area by 8:30 AM.
We need volunteers to help decorate the float and to walk in the parade.  There will be limited seating on the float as it will be occupied by our new “7 ft elephant mascot”.  We particularly need volunteers to walk alongside the float to wave to the crowd and possibly pass out literature or candy to the spectators (I’m still checking if we can do that).
I DO KNOW THAT WE CANNOT THROW ANYTHING FROM THE FLOAT.  Also, if you don’t think you can walk in the parade but you would like to drive another vehicle in the parade as part of our entry, please email me at edankar@aol.com to let me know ASAP (the entry form requires that we identify the number and types of vehicles that will be included with our entry).
If you can help decorate the float, please contact Bob Bagley, the Parade Committee Chairman, for further instructions.  He can be reached at 936-523-0223 or through PM on Facebook.
If you can join us to walk in the parade alongside the float, please contact Karen Darcy-Pawlak at edankar@aol.com or by phone at 713-806-7189.
This event provides an excellent opportunity to show the public how vibrant and active the Republican Party is in Montgomery County.   It’s important that we have a strong turnout to support our MCRP float entry and show our friends and neighbors some Republican pride.
